Dr. JIANG Jinyue (Jerry) is an incoming Assistant Professor in Civil and Environmental Engineering at Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). Prior to joining PolyU, Jerry obtained his Ph.D. in 2025 working with Z. Jason Ren at Princeton University, and finished his Postdoc Fellowship working with Paul Westerhoff at Arizona State University.

His research interests include generative AI in environmental — particularly water — applications, geospatial and thermodynamic modeling of electrified water processes, and sustainable AI development. He is the recipient of several awards, including the Princeton Maeder Fellowship, ACS Environmental Chemistry Graduate Award and Tsinghua University Siyuan Fellowship. He was one of the founding editors of the social media platform of Chinese-American Professors in Environmental Engineering and Science (CAPEES).

In his free time, Jerry enjoys exploring nature, rock climbing, swimming, video gaming and singing. He also served as the President and Principal Saxophonist of the Tsinghua University Symphonic Band (THUMB). He has two chinchillas, Mipha and Toki.
